Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 June 2026
These are the rules of using Find Your Commuter. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't, don't sign up. Find Your Commuter is operated by Scott Murphy ("we", "us", "our"); contact support@findyourcommuter.com.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour
Find Your Commuter operates a strict zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users. There is no warning system for content or behaviour that is unlawful, harassing, abusive, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable: such content is removed and the responsible account is ejected. You can report any user, photo, message, or post from within the app, and block any user at any time. We review reports of objectionable content and remove the content and/or eject the offending user within 24 hours.
1. Acceptance
By tapping "Sign Up", "Log In", or otherwise using the app, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If we update the Terms materially, we'll tell you in-app. Continued use after that = acceptance.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must be a natural person (no bots, no companies).
- You have the legal right to enter into this agreement in the country you live in.
- You aren't legally barred from dating apps (e.g. subject to relevant court orders).
3. Account rules
- Use your real first name and recent photos of yourself. No catfishing.
- One account per person.
- Don't impersonate anyone else.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
4. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or send unsolicited sexual content to other users.
- Post hate speech, incitement to violence, or content targeting people based on race, religion, sexuality, disability, or nationality.
- Post nudity, sexual content, or graphic violence — including in photos.
- Dox, out, or identify people — especially in "Tube Crush" posts. Describe what you saw, don't name a specific person, don't post their photo without consent.
- Send spam, scams, commercial solicitations, or external link-dumps.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, automate, or probe the app.
- Attempt to bypass safety features (block / report / age gate).
- Use the app for anything illegal under UK law.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post — photos, bio text, messages, feed posts. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, transmit, and display your content inside the app for as long as your account exists.
You confirm you have the right to post what you post. Don't upload photos of other people without their consent.
6. Reporting & enforcement
If someone violates these Terms, other users can report them — from a profile, a chat, or a feed post. You can also block any user. We may:
- Hide or delete offending content.
- Suspend or permanently ban accounts.
- Cooperate with law enforcement where required.
Consistent with our zero-tolerance policy, we aim to review reports of objectionable content and remove the content and/or eject the offending user within 24 hours. Three or more reports against a post automatically hides the post pending review. Three or more reports against an account may trigger auto-suspension pending manual review.
7. Tube Crush posts — specific rules
These are posts describing someone you saw on the tube. Since they describe a real person, strict rules apply:
- Never include a name. Not a first name, not a nickname.
- Never include a photo of the person.
- Describe general details (line, approximate time, general appearance) rather than identifying specifics.
- If you're the "crush" in someone's post and want it removed, contact support@findyourcommuter.com.
8. Termination
You can delete your account any time from Profile → Delete my account.
We can suspend or terminate your account at any time for a violation of these Terms, or if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect other users or the service.
9. Disclaimers
Find Your Commuter is provided "as-is". We don't guarantee:
- That you'll match with anyone.
- That any match will lead to a date, relationship, or marriage.
- That other users are who they claim to be.
- That the app is bug-free, uninterrupted, or secure against every conceivable threat.
You meet people at your own risk. Exercise the same caution you would when meeting strangers in real life. Meet in public. Tell a friend where you're going.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you for anything related to the app is limited to £50 or the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months (currently £0 — Find Your Commuter is free), whichever is greater.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute goes to the courts of England and Wales.
12. App Store (Apple) terms
If you downloaded Find Your Commuter from the Apple App Store, you also agree to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
